Midnight blue crushed velvet backless halter dress

This vintage open back dress was handmade by a London dressmaker in the 1980s for my mother. She wanted a totally backless dress to stun at a university ball.

The tie up halter neck means the height can be adjusted to show off more/less back and side boob.

The rich midnight blue crushed velvet hangs to the ground and the whole dress exudes red carpet energy.

I am a size 8 wearing this but it runs a little big on my hips. It would fit either a size 10/12 or a size 8 with a slightly more hourglass figure.

This dress photographs beautifully and will never be forgotten.
