The waist is pinched in with the organza overlay holding its structure in the flared A-line skirt to show the sheer fabric to full effect (with silk lining beneath).

Concealed zip fastening along back, below waist. Fitted at bust and waist, loose at hip. True to size. Underlay is knee-length on me, overlay your mid-calf.
