The backless design is such that you can adjust if you also want to show a bit of shoulder on the sides or want to keep it more closed. I am 173cm tall and the length when the waist sits on my waist is about two hands away from the knee cap. It is a very fun dress, perfect with black tights as well for the cold. Great for Christmas party season. It is true to size, but would also fit a size 8.
